The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: Musicians will vote on Friday whether to accept the Fort Worth Symphony’s final contract offer. It cuts their pay by eight-and-a-half-percent. Musicians have already voted to authorize a strike, and if they reject the package, they could walk out at any time.

That means they could be on strike during the symphony’s big fundraising Gala on February 6, featuring violin virtuoso Joshua Bell.

Many of the pioneering female scientists in American history were forgotten or denied recognition. Including the so-called ‘human computers’ who worked in astronomy. The Dallas Contemporary has a small exhibition of artworks by Aura Satz that showcase the research of those scientists.
