Snow flurries blowing across North Texas will taper off this afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.
In preliminary accumulations, Dallas-Fort Worth saw less than one-quarter of an inch of snow Friday. But there have been dozens of wrecks reported. Crews with the Texas Department of Transportation and the City of Dallas will be treating the roads.

Cold temperatures Friday and Friday night are the main event of this arctic front. North winds blowing at speeds of 10 to 20 miles per hour plus high temperatures in the 20s and 30s Friday will result in wind chills in the single digits and teens across the region.
Prepare more for the cold, not the snow
The skies will clear Friday night but cold temperatures will stay over. Lows in the region will hover in the teens and 20s, making wind chills one notch colder in the single digits and teens.
Be sure to take the same precautions recommended for every cold front. The weather service recommends protecting your pipes by letting faucets drip and bringing in fragile plants and animals inside. And check on your neighbors, too.
Here’s a list of more recommendations from the City of Dallas’ Office of Emergency Management.
