NPR will soon have a new voice.
Come November, NPR listeners will hear a new voice saying things such as "Support for NPR comes from..." and "This [pause] is NPR."
Sabrina Farhi is joining NPR in Washington, D.C., as the network's announcer alongside the iconic Frank Tavares, who has voiced NPR's funding credits for more than three decades. You'll get to know her quickly once her voice comes on the air in November.
Farhi says she's listened to public radio since she was a kid. In an interview with NPR, she said she packs too much in her suitcase, loves "Mad Men" and enjoys playing Scrabble. She stumbles over the word "statistically."
"I'm not as serious as I sound," she says.
"I wanted to be an actress when I grew up and all things considered, this is a dream career I never thought of as a kid," Farhi said.
