A snowman -- one of many -- in North Texas Thursday. This one was spotted at UT-Arlington.

Many strange, alien creatures are popping up across North Texas today -- snowmen. Mixthree inches of fluffy snowwith a day off from school or work and add some sunshine and you've got a recipe for a beautiful day to make snowmen.

Here are some pictures of snowmen emerging from the ground across Dallas-Fort Worth today. (Perhaps some of them are snowwomen? It's hard to tell sometimes.) We started with 12 pictures, but we'll add more to our snowman collection throughout the day.

Cue the "Frozen" music. Do you wanna build a snowman? (Cue the groans, too, for the obligatory "Frozen" reference.)

A late-winter storm has dumped lots of snow on North Texas. D/FW International Airport recorded 3.5 inches, while Dallas Love Field recorded 3.3 inches. It's the most snow we've seen in a single storm in five years. The National Weather Service says this is the fourth heaviest snowfall for March in Dallas-Fort Worth.
