Former President George H.W. Bush is celebrating his 94th birthday Tuesday in Maine.
He’s the first U.S. president to reach the milestone. Bush became the longest-living president in U.S. history last November when he surpassed the late Gerald Ford.
Bush is relaxing at his home in Kennebunkport, eight days after being released from a hospital where he was treated for low blood pressure.
Chief of Staff Jean Becker says the nation's 41st president wants a low-key day and "no presents." But several of his children are in town, including former President George W. Bush.

Bush is spending the summer in Kennebunkport without his wife of 73 years, Barbara, whose 93rd birthday would've been last Friday.
Bush tweeted on her birthday about how she liked to help others, and he thanked those who are carrying forward her work.
"She loved helping others and did so with a joyful heart. Knowing there are so many out there who share her passion puts joy in our hearts," he wrote.

Her daughter-in-law, Margaret Bush, marked the occasion by doing something Barbara Bush enjoyed: She read aloud to young patients at The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center.
And the Bush family had a quiet dinner at home in Kennebunkport to celebrate its matriarch.
Barbara Bush died April 17 with her husband at her side in their home in Houston.
