Can The Tower-Nasher Conflict Get Any Hotter?

We may be on the cusp of winter, but things are pretty fiery in the demilitarized zone of the Dallas Arts District that lies between the Nasher Sculpture Center and Museum Tower.

Art&Seek's Anne Bothwell catches us up on the back-and-forth sniping of the last few days -- it involves a canceled meeting about a proposed "louver" system, which Museum Tower's experts now say won't work, and accusations of "publicity stunts," among other things.

BJ Austin talked with Mayor Mike Rawlings, and he says he's trying to get a compromise worked out by the time Mother Nature cranks up the heat next summer. "Both parties I know want it to be solved," Rawlings says. "And I’m working behind the scenes to try to do the best I can.  But we’ve got to get them together to talk about solutions."

Rick Holter was KERA's vice president of news. He oversaw news coverage on all of KERA's platforms – radio, digital and television. Under his leadership, KERA News earned more than 200 local, regional and national awards, including the station's first two national Edward R. Murrow Awards. He and the KERA News staff were also part of NPR's Ebola-coverage team that won a George Foster Peabody Award, broadcasting's highest honor.
