Babies In The Classroom Help Anti-Bullying Efforts [Video]

PBS NewsHour
Children are learning empathy with the help of a baby.

Can babies teach kids about empathy and bullying? A program in Seattle aims to do just that. As part of public media's American Graduate initiative, PBS NewsHour spotlights children in one elementary school classroom who are learning how to treat others. The teacher: a seven-month old baby girl.

Some say there's also a connection between bullying and the dropout crisis. A recent study by the University of Virginia found that the dropout rate was 29 percent above average in schools that had more incidents of teasing and bullying.
